You are, in fact, correct. The correct name for these little pastries I made is "macarons". However, perhaps given their popularity in the English-speaking world, many professional culinary translators, chefs, and retailers are calling them "macaroons" in English. The recipes given to me by the Cordon Bleu in Paris, for example, used the word "macaroon" in their translations into English. <br /><br />Perhaps you're right, and we should continue preserving the French word.
